Shawn Keen

Community Advisor

Shawn Keen is a blind entrepreneur, advocate, and founder of AI for the Blind—a rapidly growing online community of more than 15,000 members dedicated to empowering blind and low-vision people through artificial intelligence, creativity, and connection.

A recognized voice in assistive technology, Shawn has collaborated with leading companies such as Coursera, major universities including Vanderbilt, and nonprofits like the Lighthouse for the Blind in New Orleans to expand opportunities for independence, education, and innovation.

After recovering from a stroke in 2022, Shawn redirected his energy toward educating people about the power of AI and technology, while weaving in storytelling and community. His projects range from podcasts like Feeling a Bit Keen to initiatives that help blind creators harness AI for music, business, and daily life. His mission is simple yet powerful: turning learning into earning for people who are too often excluded from the digital economy.

Rooted in Texas and recognized nationally for his advocacy, Shawn brings both expertise and lived experience to his advisory role with Eko Vision Foundation. His passion is helping organizations connect accessibility with real human impact—and showing what’s possible when blind innovators lead the way.
