B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L Project

Blind Experience Assessment for User Technology
- Innovation, Feedback, Usability, and Learning

What is the B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Project?

Community-driven review platform created by and for people who are blind or low vision, with Eko Vision Foundation.

Reviewers tests products like smart speakers, virtual assistants, computer access tools, mobility aids, and more.

We gather real experiences and honest feedback by the blind and low vision reviewers, then invite the public to share their own reviews.

Together, we are building a trusted, neutral, and supportive space where you can learn from real experiences and explore what works best for you.

When sighted people watch YouTube videos or scroll through Reddit reviews before buying their next phone, we hop on Eko Vision Review
— our space to hear what blind and low-vision users say about the newest screen reader, smart device, or assistive tech tool.

Our Approach

We begin with a small, trusted group of reviewers who thoroughly test a diverse range of assistive technologies which include:

Screen readers &
OCR (Optical Character Recognition) tools

Virtual assistants &

smart speakers

Computer access devices

Environmental control systems

Mobility aids

Communication devices

Sensory and other specialized assistive aids

Others (including suggestions from Blind and Low vision Community)

These reviewers provide detailed feedback on usability, performance, innovation, and learning curve. Their insights form the foundation of our rating system.

Community-Driven Ratings

After we establish our expert reviews, we invite the broader public—including all blind and low vision users—to contribute their own experiences. This community-driven review ecosystem aims to : â€‹

Create a welcoming community where honest and unbiased experiences are shared

Empower users to choose assistive technologies with confidence through genuine feedback

Foster conversations that highlight the strengths and challenges of accessibility tools

Reducing the " Disability Tax "

Living with a disability often means spending a lot of money just trying out different assistive technologies until you find the one that actually works for you. This costly trial-and-error process is part of what people call the “ disability tax ”. It’s an extra financial burden that most sighted people don’t have to deal with.

Our B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Project is here to change that. By creating a trusted space where blind and low vision users share honest, real-world reviews and recommendations, we help you skip the guesswork. This means you can find the most effective, natural-sounding, and affordable tools faster—saving both your time and money.

Knowledge is power, and together, we’re making assistive technology more accessible, affordable, and tailored to what you really need.
